How the Operating System can provide more security
Maximum safety is very important for our industrial customers. That's why Spectra uses a Windows operating system that protects the industrial PC even better against unauthorized access or data loss.
Microsoft® Windows® 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 or the brand new Microsoft® Windows® 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 offer you extensive configuration options with the 'Advanced Lockdown Features'. These lockdown functions allow you to precisely assign access authorisations for each user or prevent write access or lock individual USB ports or lock certain keyboard combinations.
Both operating systems, Microsoft® Windows® 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 and Microsoft® Windows® 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024, are based on "frozen" versions that are available and supported by Microsoft until 2031 and 2034 respectively.
Until then, unless otherwise requested, you will only receive security updates. Functionality updates are generally not provided. This means that your individual one-time settings remain unaffected.
At your request, customised industrial PC systems from Spectra are delivered with pre-installed Microsoft® Windows® 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 or Microsoft® Windows® Windows 10 IoT Enterprise 2021 LTSC. We are also happy to make additional security settings for you during installation..
